12 yr old 3/4 foxtrotter 1/4 quarter horse mare, 16.1 hands
Pros:
This mare has a big, floaty trot and a really nice, dreamy lope. She’s very people-oriented, in your pocket type, and forms a strong connection with her person. She’s forward and has plenty of go. She’s been ridden both in the mountains and in the arena. I originally had plans for her as an endurance prospect, but life circumstances have shifted and I’m offering her for sale.
She trailers well and stands nicely for the farrier.
Cons:
She is a project horse. She has likely dealt with ulcers in the past. We treated her and she responded well, but she will likely need ongoing maintenance. With my current schedule, I’m not able to give her the consistency she needs. When she’s feeling good, she rides out nicely (see video). When she’s not, she will let you know. She will get anxious and crow hop. She will also run through your hands and be less responsive. Again this is when she is not feeling well.
She came to us poorly started and handled inconsistently. When I have focused my time and attention with her she thrives.
She would do best with someone experienced who has the time and knowledge to help her reach her potential. She’s very responsive to connection-based work. We did a liberty clinic with her and she really took to that style. She needs a person willing to build trust and a solid partnership. DM with any inquiries.
