Bare root raspberry plants. Hardy and productive summer bearing variety adapted to our climate. Enjoy a long season of delicious berries!
Variety is either Latham or something similar.
This variety maxes out out at 6-8 feet tall, so doesn't require a complicated trellis system. We make a box around our rows with 4 T posts and string a wire between to help hold up the canes when they get heavy with fruit. This variety has small thorns.
The fruit is flavorful and delicious fresh, frozen or cooked. They make a jam to die for! Our favorite recipe is honey sweetened jam using the Pamona's Pectin low-sugar recipe.
Bare root plants are dug the day you want them and should be planted immediately. Canes are trimmed down short for the best transplanting success, and roots will be packed in a small amount of organic potting soil. Expect your new plants to produce fruit starting next year.
Our raspberry patch is all organic, fed with homemade compost and certified organic fertilizer.
