This fella is half Normandy, half Shorthorn/Ayrshire. He is about 7 months old. He has been naturally raised, no hormones or antibiotics. Fed our own hay and a little bit of grain to gentle him. He is UTD on deworming, 8-Way, vitamin B complex, and his fall shot (virashield 6 w Somnus).
The French Normandy is a dual purpose breed, meat and milk. My bull's mother is a very large cow that is built like a big Angus cow but produces about 6 gallons per day at her peak. My bull is a low birth weight bull, even used on heifers, but the calves are fast growing.
That being said, he would make a great addition to a dairy or for a family milk cow but he would also do great as a herd bull for beef cows.
